On 27th June 2010 (Sunday) at 6.30 PM. That was an excellent dance performance by Archana for VDS. She is agile and enthusiastic. Her foot-work and limb movements were fine. Bhava is also very good; hanuman chalisa was itself lengthy and in fast tempo. Next followed by still lengthier varnam; Madurai R. Muralidharan, s gaanam isaithu ninrayo. Archana did it very well answering the jathis neatly. The sancharibhava was executed nicely especially the Draoupathi vasthra pahasm. The dance doing the lip movements also added attraction. It attracts more applause from the large number of audience.

Full credit goes to the guru Vanee Gayathri Bala for her excellent preparation of her student. Chinnanchiru penn pole was done neatly.

Vocal by Roshini Ganesh; especially Roshini's singing for the varnam where raga changed with each line, Mridangam by Mayavaram J. Shankar, Violin by Sikkil Balasubramanian and flute by P.V.Raman have supported the dancer very well.
We congratulate the team work of the musicians. We must mention about the compeering
by little Jayashri. She did very well in her sweet voice with proper modulations and fine pronunciation.

The Bharathanatyam Exponent Smt. Madhumathi Prakash, chief guest of the programme blessed the dancer Archana.

On 25th June 2010 (Friday) at 6.30 PM. V. M. Balapriya a student of Kala Srinivasan performed a very good and attractive dance performance. A child of 10, she has keen interest in dance, very brisk and enthusiastic. Her foot work is good. Limb and neck movements are fine. Her body is very flexible. Bhava though tutored was good.

She did the lengthy varnam Papanasam Sivan's dhanyasi; nee indha maayam well answering the jathis neatly. Sancharibhava was enacted very well. To-day's best piece was andal padam. Make-up was fine. Entrance in to the stage it self was attractive. She depicted the episodes well. Natanam aadinar was fine; she displayed the different poses well.

To-day's music Vocal by S. Samaya Kumar, C.K.Vasudevan (Mridangam), K. Ganesan (violin) and Nimal Varshan (flute) have rendered their good support.

Natyakala Rathna Sri M. Swaminathan, chief guest of the evening programme has blessed the dancer little Balapriya.

On 20th June 2010 (Sunday) at 6.00 PM. S. Ashwini presented a very good vocal concert at VDS. Her voice is bold and clear. She has been well trained by her guru Kamala Venkatraman; a famous Therezhundur Sisters.

Her suddha saveri kriti guru guha was good. Dinamani vamsa in Harikamboji could have been sung in a slower tempo. Main shankarabaranam for kriti sarojadhalanethri was very good. After a neat alapana she sang the kriti, niraval and kalpanaswaram very well. She has to use modulations in singing. Yamankalyani was fine.

Shraddha (Violin) and Nellai. V. Srikrishnan (mridangam) gave very good support to the Ashwini.

At 7.15 PM. V. S. Sruthi presented her yet another excellent vocal concert to-day. Her concert was marked by a good all round knowledge, fine rendering of kritis with ragalakshana and well executed kalpanaswaram. Her voice is fine, sweet and versatile.
Gurus Dr. Manjula Sriram and P.B. Srirangachari have trained her well.

Shanmugapriya; ekambarsha nayakim was good. Main shankarabharanam was nice Kalpanaswaram was fine for kriti manasu swadhina. Ragamalika has sung melodiously..
K. J. Dileep (violin), V. Prashanth (mridangam) gave their fine support to Sruthi.

On 19th June 2010 (Saturday) at 6.00 PM. S. Anupama performed a very good vocal concert at VDS. Her voice is bold-but range is limited. She sings kritis well. Layam also good. Hamsadwani kriti aabhista vadha; a composition of Krishna swami sivan well. Niraval and swarams were well trained by her mother-cum-guru Kalyani Shankar.

Main Shankarabaranam was good for Shyama sastry's Sarojathalanethri. Ranjanamala was also very good.

Shraddha (Violin) and P.V. Srivathsa gave a very good support to Anupama.

At 7.15 PM. Madurai S. Suchitra's attractive and excellent vocal concert was marked by her sweet and versatile voice with fine brugas. Her paatantharam is good, over all knowledge is fine. Guru Madurai R. Kannan has trained her very well.

Suchitra's keeravani was fine. Kriti Innamum (Sri Gopalakrishna Bharathi) and kalpanaswaram were fine. Main shankarabharanam was very good. After a neat alapana she rendered the kriti enthuku pethala very well. Niraval and kalpanaswaram had variety. Desh was rendered melodiously. Selections of the items were good.

Koushik Sivaramakrishnan (violin), Sumesh Narayanan (mridangam) gave their fine support to Suchitra.

Vidhushi Smt. Kunnakudi Bala, chief guest blessed the musicians.

On 18th June 2010 (Friday) at 6.00 PM. P. Hari Govindan presented a very good vocal performance in VDS. He has a bold & loud voice. He sings the krithis very well. He is confident. Guru Seerkazhi R. Jayaraman has trained him very well. Previously he has had a strong foundation in Ramjhis Issai Mazhalai.

His sang the Hamsadwani kriti mooladhara well. Sujana jeevana in kamas was rather plain. Main simhendra madhyamam laws fine. After a neat alapana he sang the kriti of his guru very well. His neraval and swaram was in detailed. Did not look like maiden, full fledged concert. He sang Radhasamedha Krishna well.

V. Supraja (Violin) and T. Karthik (Mridangam) gave a very good support to the little main artist.

Abaswaram Sri. Ramjhi, chief guest of the programme blessed the young musicians.

At 7.15 PM. That was R. Shyam, a dis. of the violin exponent, Guru Sangeetha Kalanidhi M. Chandrasekar (present) and Guru Lalitha Raghavan (previous). Shyam has already won violin first prize a violin it self from VDS ARTS academy. His all round knowledge and confidence is remarkable at just 14. He has gained a lot of experience by playing as accompanying artist. He has been receiving expert coaching & guidance from his illustrious and famous guru M. Chandrasekar as well as a strong foundation was made by Lalitha Raghavan. Both of them were recipient of BEST GURU award from VDS.

The starting piece Siddhi vinayakam was unusually a lengthy one with kalpanaswaram etc. Karaharapriya was good. Main pantuvarali was fine. After a short and neat alapana he played the kriti saarasaksha very well. His neraval and swaram kalpana were good. He played his gurus composition in Bimblas melodiously. He is fortunate to play the piece in the presence of his honoured guru. Mridangist S.R. Ethirajan and gatam artist S. Sri Sainath gave a very good support to little Shyam.

On 13th June 2010 (Sunday) at 6.30 PM. Aparna Ramachandran performed an excellent dance for VDS. Her performance was marked by elegant limb movements, fine foot-work and good bhava. Guru R. Vijaymadhavan has trained her very well.

She did the varnam a composition of the Papanasam Sivan, Swami naan undhan adimai very well. She answered the intricate jathis neatly. The sanchari bhava she enacted very well. Chinna Chinna padham was very attractive. Music, percussi and dance synchronized very well. Kaali thooki padham in slow motion was also good.

Vocal by B. Umashankar, Mridangam by Nagai P. Sriram, Violin by Sikhamani and flute by G. Natraj have supported the dancer very well.

On 12th June 2010 (Saturday) at 6.30 PM. That was an excellent dance performance by Dhivya Ramachandran. She has fine features for a dancer. Perfect and elegant foot-work. Garce ful limb movements and adequate bhava and laya. Guru Sudha Vijayakumar has trained her very well.

She did the simplified jathiswaram neatly. Varnam was fine. She answered the jathis neatly. Sancharaibhava was executed neatly. Nrutha padham was fine. Her fast foot-work and agile limb movements were good to watch. The selections of the items were fine and had variety. Both the costumes were fine and suited the dancer.

V. Venugopal on vocal, mridangam by G. Ganesan and Vinodkumar on violin have rendered their fine support.

On 11th June 2010 (Friday) at 6.30 PM. V. Vidya Radha performed an excellent dance performance. She is our regular artist. This is her 5th performance for VDS. Now she has improved and dancing like a matured artist. She is lean, tall. Limb movements and foot-work were elegant. Guru Pandanallur S. Pandian has trained her very well.

Her abhinaya was fine in the varnam Tanjore quartets Sakiye ean indha maayam. Her sanchari bhava was good and she did the different postures of lord Vishnu very well in the padham Silapathigara pann. Both music and dance was fine in arivenaiya padham.

To-day's music Vocal by G. Srikanth, Viswanathan (Mridangam) and Kalaiaarasan (violin) have rendered their finesupport.

Sri Sri Velukudi Krishnan swamiji and Sri. Rajagopala Sekar, Secretary of Karthik fine Arts chief guests of the evening programme have blessed the dancer Vidhya Radha.
