Review ( Month of December '10)

On 12th December 2010 (Sunday) at 6.00 PM. Vandana Krishnamurthi has presented a fine & very good vocal concert.
This is her 3rd performance at VDS. Her voice is loud and clear. She renders kritis very well.Her paatantharam by Guru Meera Kedarnathan is very good.

Her kaapi was fine. She sang the kriti palani nindra of Periasami
Dooran nicely. Main lathangi was good. The alapana was neat, though short. She rendered marivere well. Kalpanaswaram was good.

Supraja (Violin) and K. R. Narayan (Mridangam) gave a very good support.

On 11th December 2010 (Saturday) at 6.00 PM. N. Sajanthi presented a fine & very good vocal concert for VDS. Her voice is fine – it is modulation and has a good range. Paatantharam by Guru Padma Sandilyan is very good.

Her pantuvarali was o.k., alapana was though short it was Kalpanaswaram was o.k. She did the main shankarabaranam very well; alapana was neat with long pidis, Kriti Mahalakshmi was rendered well, niraval was o.k., muthaippuswaram was very good. She sang the thukkadas melodiously.

V. Shreyas (Violin) and Gomathishankar (Mridangam) gave a very good support.

At 7.15 PM. L. Srividhya’s vocal concert was excellent. She is brought up by guru Suba Ganesan. At 15 her manodharma is very high. Voice is fine, melodious, versatile with proper gamakas and brigas.

Some of the ragas and kritis she has selected for the concert are
difficult. But she rendered them effortlessly. She did rasika priya
very well. Main simhendra mdhymam was fine. The alapana has nice pidis. Kriti Maharaja Swathi Thirunal’s Rama Rama gunaseema was rendered well. Niraval and kalpanaswarams had variety.She sang behag thillana beautifully.

Shraddha Ravindran on violin and G. Karthik on mridangam gave a fine support
