V. Varsha – Bharathanatyam

On 29th July 2016 (Friday) at 6.30 PM:  V. Varsha presented an excellent and sparkling bharathanatyam recital. She has been honed very well by her guru R. Vijaymadhavan.

Thodyamangama was a very unique selection that was intrinsically woven with jathis.

The orchestra’s prelude to the kalyani jatheeswaram was mellifluous and was neatly executed by varsha. Ramachandram Bhavayami was concise. The varnam explored varshas versatility as a dance in terms of both nritta and abhinaya. Her portrayal of little Krishna in the second half of the varnam was a blend of innocence and maturity. The ranjani mala was a very refreshing start of the second half.

Vocal by Mumbai Shilpa, Mridangam by Jayashankar, violin by Ganesan and flute by Gokul  have rendered their fine support.
